Troop 101 Honor Patrol Program
The troop is comprised of seven patrols. The Honor Patrol Program is a monthly competition in which each patrol works to achieve those things that make a patrol function well. Points are awarded weekly and at the end of each month the winning patrol is announced. The standard prize most months is to be the guests of the adult leaders (Skunk Patrol) for Sunday breakfast. This is a coveted prize since it means they can clean up all their own cooking equipment Saturday night and do not have to worry about cooking or cleaning that morning.

Criteria can vary for earning points from month to month depending on certain program emphasis, but some of the basics usually are:
  • Uniform & Attendance
  • Holding a monthly Patrol Meeting
  • Campout attendance
  • Advancement
  • Recruiting new members
  • Patrol competitions that are usually held one meeting each month.
There is also a National Honor Patrol which takes three months to achieve. Any patrol earning this is awarded a star patch that is worn beneath their patrol medallion on the sleeve of their uniforms. Details for this award can be found in the BSA Handbook or Patrol Leader's Handbook.  Click here for the National Honor Patrol application
